Red Book of Mammals of Croatia
In preparation of the Red Book of Mammals of Croatia all available data on the fauna of mammals have been systematically analysed and the levels of threat assessed using the criteria of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), which resulted in an expert foundation for further action plans for conservation of threatened species.
As it turned out, of a total of 101 mammal species native for Croatia 41 have their place in Red List, of which 5 species are regionally extinct and 7 are facing the risk of extinction.
