Red Book of Freshwater Fishes in Croatia

With its 151 freshwater fish species recorded so far, of which 18 are Croatian endemics, Croatia ranks second in Europe by the richness of ichthyofauna. Freshwater fishes are one of the most endangered groups of vertebrates. It is therefore not surprising that 91 fish taxa are included in the Red Book of Freshwater Fishes of Croatia, representing as much as 60% of freshwater ichthyofauna in Croatia.
