The Plan for Lynx Management in Croatia
Croatia is one of the rare European Countries inhabited by all three carnivores: the lynx, the wolf and the bear. The essential objective of nature protection is to preserve the wealth of nature and prevent the disappearance of any species. The conservation of the lynx and other carnivores requires co-operation of all interest groups and agreement on how a specific species may be preserved. This was the guiding principle when formulating the first management plan for a carnivore of Croatia , i.e. the Plan for Lynx Management in Croatia .
The plan was prepared in active participation of representatives of all interest groups. The Plan for Lynx Management in Croatia is a document that provides guidelines for activities that need to be undertaken so as to ensure a long-term conservation of this species in a harmonious co-existence with humans.
It was officially adopted by the Decision of the Minister of Culture dated 7 December 2004.
